Numerical Simulation Analysis of the Transformer Fire Extinguishing Process with a High-Pressure Water Mist System under Different Conditions

To thoroughly study the extinguishing effect of a high-pressure water mist fire system when transformer occurs, 3D experimental model is established in this work by employing Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) software. More specifically, setting different parameters, process with presence both diverse ambient temperatures and sprinkler laying conditions simulated. In addition, employed implementation strategies systematically analyzed. The extracted results show that source farther away from centerline leads to lower local temperature distribution. as increases, above decreases, while concentration upper flue gas layer decrease. Interestingly, after begins operate, distribution decrease, which indicates plays role cooling dust removal. By comparing various methods, it found height has better on source, layer, gas. Moreover, spread over whole transformer, good, whereas change not obvious compared case where fully spread.
